folder images path

is there a way to change the default image path of the component

/root/communitypolls/images/

i think its a better pathway structure when the images folder is in the "joomla images" folder
something like this:

/root/images/communitypolls

i think the best way is a self configurable "Path to Image Folder" field in the backend
