Restrict voting to answer OR write in answer

OK, I admit it, this is my first go at the component.... still feeling my way through how it works and have hit a problem I'm not seeing a solution to.

My application is for managing voting for several different positions on a board of directors of a non profit organization. President, VP, Secretary, etc.

Taking the component out on it's maiden voyage, I tried a simple vote for one of the following candidates:
1 - Person a
2 - Person b
3 - Person c


What I noted was that the voting allowed for both voting for one of the 3 choices AND also writing in a candidate.

Is it possible to restrict it to voting for one of the numbered choices OR the write in but not BOTH?

If you are using this for voting for multiple candidates for different offices, I'd love to know how you set that up.
