Plugin Does NOT recognize Top Level Category

Article Suggestion Plugin is another very good extension but it has some flaws too.. Firstly, It doesn't recognize the top level Category and display the articles within its child categories..This is not very convenient..I have A global "Articles" Parent category..And under it I have 20-30 level-2, level-3, level-4 child categories..When I entered the Cat ID of the top Most Category, it displays nothing but I was expecting that it would show the articles in all child categories..It is not practical to enter cat id's of every sub level vat id one-by-one..

Can this be fixed.?
