See this: http://www.kalamies.com/blog/categories
There's shown category "Blogs" and under it are various sub-categories named by a usernames, authors who have submitted at least one blog article. All non-blog categories have been excluded from the category listing.
Suggestion:
Whenever a user starts a new personal blog, a sub-category is created and named by the user's username.
From there on, all the user's personal blog posts will (by default) be filed under and can be found under this category.
If the user submits an article (which isn't really a blog but a content article), that would be filed under a content category and given perhaps special points.
In my opinion, site content articles should be kept apart from personal blog articles and it at this moment (v. 1.0.2) seems that any article submitted by a person is considered a blog article.
