How to format the email body text of invitations?

Hi there,

Emailed invitations to take the survey sent to contacts in the addressbook,
arrive without any formatting. If you enter <br /> or n these do not result in line breaks in the email that is received by the invited. Is there a way to format the email body text or at least use line-breaks?
