what can i do, to show questions from child categories in their parent category?

example:

1. category A has 5 child-categories with 2 questions per child-category (so 10 overall).
2. in category A question counter (home-page) these questions are not shown.
3. so in category A there are 10 questions (not directly, but in child categories), but question-counter shows "0"!

what can i do, to display these questions at least in question counter of parent category? its not true, that category A has "0" questions, it has "10"!

do you know, what i mean?
