For custom badge icons... how do I call it from the database so that it displays the Icon?

At the moment, I am displaying user badges in Community Builder using a plugin. I call the class inside the div and then call the badge title. This gives me the badge.

But how do I call the icon image. If I set the row to "icon" then it simply displays badgefilename.gif instead of the image.

Hmmmmmmm....... ? Should I add something like this in the php?
