[solved] what is the meaning of 'sum-up all answers'?
Hello Maverick,
can you pleas explain the meaing of the option 'sum-up all answers'?
i couldn't find anything about this in the documentation, and also did several tests on my site, but could not see any difference between sum-up: yes & sum-up: no.
for example, if i have a "single selection" question with 'true' and 'false' options. the true option is worth 10 points (marks) and the false option is 0. if the user choose 'true', he gets 10 points. if he choose 'false' he get 0 points. should this be any different when 'sum-up all answers' is chosen as 'yes'? i don't see any difference in the behaviour of the question.
to continue this example, when both answers 'true' & 'false' have the value of 10 marks - the user will get 10 marks no matter what option he chosses. and again, no difference in the behaviour when i turn on the 'sum-up all answers' options for that question. should there be any difference?
second example, i have a multiple checkboxes question with 4 options, and the user must select 2 of them. 2 options are 'true' and 2 are 'false'. the true options are worth 10 marks each, and the false are worth 0. if a user choose both true option he get 20 marks. if he choose 1 true & 1 false he get 10 marks.
if all 4 options have the value of 10 marks, the user will get 20 marks no matter what 2 of the 4 he choose.
but again, in these 2 situations there is no difference in behaviour when i turn the 'sum-up all answers' on.
maybe i'm just misunderstanding thise feature.
can you pleas explain if what i'm describing is expected, and what should this 'sum-up' option actually do?
this is the same site that i sent you login details for 2 days ago.
i migh mention that on because of some CSS issue the tooltip for this option is slightly out of screen, cutting 1 or 2 words from the begining of each sentence. i thouhg i figured it so i did some tests, but could not understand the meaning of this option.
thank you very much
